Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica-Cathedral, in Quebec City, is the oldest parish in North America. In 1647 Samuel de Champlain built a church on the same site. The fire destroyed twice the church, then in 1923 the actual Basilica was built following the plans by architect Francois Baillarge.
