Scott Collection. forms, was found a few years back by Mr. Lomax, in a roof-nodule from the Lower Coal-measures of Shore- Littleborough, Lancashire ; the species has been named Poroxylon Sutcliffii (Fig. 184), after the owner of the mine, to whose co-operation palaeobotanists owe so much ; though the plant is certainly related to the French Poroxylons, its place in the same genus must.
