The steam generating equipment ofthe plant consists of ten boilers of theelephant type, arranged as illustratedin the accompanying illustration ofthe boiler room. They are designedto operate at a steam pressure of 135lbs. per square inch. They are hand-fired, using bituminous coal, and areequipped with Green economizers forthe heating of feed water. .The boilerfeed and other pumps used in theplant are Worthington pumps.
