TWAR is an eight-week course of instruction designed to provide Foreign Security Force personnel with the specialized training required to restore the structural integrity of steel, aluminum, and fiberglass hulls and components. Students will conduct factory-level maintenance and repairs on the Zodiac Combat Rubber Raiding Craft, as well as perform metal repairs to oxyacetylene cutting, fusion welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on carbon steel, and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) on aluminum. NAVSCIATTS trains and educates international security force professionals across the tactical, operational, and strategic spectrums based on geographic combatant command theater security cooperation priorities. To date, NAVSCIATTS has worked with more than 13,000 partner forces from 125 different countries. Semester 23-2 features students from Antigua and Barbuda, Niger, and Chad, with translation support provided by Belgian and Canadian special operations linguists.
