A steam hauled charter train at Llandrindod Wells Railway Station, on the Heart of Wales Line, UK


Llandrindod station, on the Heart of Wales line serves the small town of Llandrindod Wells in Wales. There are an unusually large number of passengers on the platforms from a special charter train. Normally there only four trains per day in each direction between Shrewsbury and Cardiff. (2014) The London Midland and Scottish Railway Class 5 4-6-0, almost universally known as the Black Five, is a class of steam locomotive. It was introduced by William Stanier in 1934 and 842 were built between then and 1951. Members of the class survived to the last day of steam on British Railways in 1968, and eighteen are preserved, among them the two on this special train 44871 and 45407.
