Russian cosmonaut Elena V. Kondakova. Elena Vladimirovna Kondakova (born 1957) talking to news reporters and onlookers during Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) activities in preparation for mission STS-84. Kondakova was the mission specialist on STS-84, the sixth docking of the NASA Space Shuttle Atlantis with the Russian Space Station Mir (15-24th May 1997). Kondakova previously lived on the Russian space station from 4th October 1994 to 9th March 1995, as the flight engineer of the 17th main mission. Photographed at Launch Pad 39A, John F.
