Chinese language and cultural event held in Avenham Park, organised by the Confucius Institute which is a partnership between University of Central Lancashire and Beijing International Studies University. The Director of UCLan Confucius Institute Feixia Yu commented: “The festival provides an opportunity to learn new language skills and share China’s traditions with the local community.”

We want to encourage people to try something that they may have never done before.” Worldwise Samba Drummers are a Brazilian percussion band based at the University of Central Lancashire and are supported by the University’s Worldwise Learning Centre. This provides an exciting opportunity to create links between different cultures within the UCLan and local community and give members the opportunity to learn new skills in music performance, Brazilian Percussion and its cultural origins and increase awareness of world music.
