The bright weather dur- ing the week caused large consignments to come in daily, especially of violets. These constituted a glut* and sold as low as $2 per thousand, the extra blooms bringing 35 cents per hundred; as a re- sult thousands were sold to the largo flower stores downtown and were dis- posed of at 10 cents per bunch of twenty- five. Kosps are in large demand, but they continue to be scarce. It seems as though all the rose growers are off crop at the same time. Good blooms of Kil- larney, Russell, Ward, Sunburst, Ophelia and Beauty sell at sight, at top prices. Carnations have been holding their own, the jiricps during the latter part of the week dropping to $3 for the choice blooms. For the inferior grades $2 was asked. Of these the supply has been large, but the best have cleaned up al- most daily. Tlie Encliantrcss varieties continue in the majority. In reds some excellent Beacons are seen, and in the dark pinks Ward sells well. There now are plenty of Easter lilies and carllas, which experience a
