GOLDEN GATE PARK, CALIFORNIA, USA: THIS SHELL-FISH bird was captured swallowing whole crayfish in what looks like the most uncomfortable feeding-frenzy ever. The female Hooded Merganser swallowed four crayfish in a matter of minutes, first chasing the heavily armoured yet hapless invertebrates across the lake they were peacefully living in, then scooping in them up and swallowing them whole. Astonished Creative Labs employee Thinh Bui (58) from Fremont California, captured this extraordinary scene while visiting San Francisco’s South Lake in the Golden Gate State Park.
