Blathwayt records that two were shot near Grantham and one near Lincoln between September 24th and October 5%, 1908 {Zool., 1908, p. 428). On September 26th an immature bird was shot near Oldham (F. Stubbs, Nat., 1908, p. 456). One was shot near Beccles and another near Great Yarmouth (? in September), (B. Dye, Zool,, 1908, p. 468). Lincolnshire and Somersetshire Heronries.—The Rev. F. L. Blathwayt gives some interesting particulars of these {Zool, 1908, p. 450). Nesting of the Scaup-Duck in Scotland.—Correction.— The nest found by Captain (now Colonel) R.
