Celery should receive thorough cultivation if good results are desired. To store for winter use, select well-drained ground, dig trenches one foot wide and deep enough to coverthe tops of the plants. Pack the stalks in this in an upright position, covering with waterproof celery paper to shed tlie water; in severe weather protect with straw or leaves. An early, beautiful and in every way desirable sort, recjuiring but little labor to blanch, The heart is a rich golden yellow, with light yellowish-green outer leaves. Schumacher.
