Shelley Spires, a junior, competes in the high jump at the 27th-annual Air Force Invitational held at the Air Force Academy's Cadet Field House in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jan. 21, 2017. Spires broke her own Academy record in the high jump for the third straight meet. She broke her own standard twice during the event, finishing the day with a career-best clearance of 6'1 1/2", the second-best clearance in the nation this season and a new Mountain West record.
