In 1874 be was electedcity attorney of Hillsboro, and in 1876 he waselected states attorney, and was re-elected thefollowing term. After a lapse of several yearshe was again elected to that office in 1884, andhe left the impress of his individuality uponthe legislation enacted during these two terms,for be upheld strenuously every measure whichlie believed
