Canadian Brigadier-General (retired) Jorgensen fights back tears as he remembers the crash of a Royal Canadian Air Force C-130 aircraft 30 years ago on Fort Wainwright. Jorgensen, then a captain, was injured in the crash that took the lives of nine Canadian service members who were taking part in the combined exercise Brim Frost on Jan. 29, 1989. Jorgensen returned to Fort Wainwright Feb. 5, 2019, his first visit since the crash, to speak at a ceremony honoring the Canadians at the post’s Alert Holding Area.
