This spout isnecessarily used in connectionwith a hoisting apparatus or anelevator, by which the grain or feed is raised to anupper floor. In high barns provided with a hoist anda sliding spout of this kind, it will generally be foundconvenient to store the grain upon the top floor, where itwill be well ventilated, and may be made free from vermin.
