A very fine Russian percussion shotgun,circa 1840 Master Robert Schnack in St. Petersburg. Two-stage Damascus barrel(in parts pitted),octagonal then round in 19 mm calibre,gold-inlaid inscription "",at the barrel root and the tang finely engraved,gold thread inlay. Engraved lock-plate with gold-inlaid signature "R. Schnack",the cock shaped like a dolphin. High-quality half stock made from finely grained walnut(restored at one point),finely chequered.
