Anti-epilepsy tablets. Epilim is a treatment for epilepsy. Each pill contains a mixture of the drugs sodium valproate and volproic acid equivalent to 500 milligrams of sodium valproate. Epileptic seizures are caused by uncontrolled and excessive electrical activity in the brain. This drug reduces brain activity by increasing the amounts of the inhibitory neurotransmitter chemical GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain, preventing seizures. Epilim is manufactured by Sanofi-synthelabo.
