Bwindi, 331 square kilometer of both mountain and lowland forest was gazetted as a national park in 1991. Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994. Of the 11 primate species, Mountain Gorilla viewing is a major tourism activity. August 18, 2007.
