A sabre M 1858 for petty officers and sergeants of the Russian navy Slightly curved, single-edged blade with the Russian manufacturer's mark "Zlatoust 1856" etched into the back. Floral cartouches (rubbed) with the tsarist cypher "A", an anchor and a chain etched into both sides. Brass knuckle-bow hilt with two guard bars (one slightly bent). Illegible Cyrillic manufacturer's mark stamped onto the knuckle-bow. Leather-covered grip wrapped with brass wire. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings. Length 86 cm. Rare. Cf. A.
