Gaspar Betancourt Cisneros, (1803-1866), 1920s. Artist: Unknown


Gaspar Betancourt Cisnero, was born in Camagueya in 1803. In 1837 he began publishing notable articles. He lead the contruction of the railway between Puerto Principe and Nuevitas. He found refuge in New York. In 1849 he became Vice-president of the Cuban Advice (Council) advocating annexation.
