If every part of the sash could be held as snug and tight as at the binges, there would be no leaks. To overcome this, we mill the main part of the ridge with a special curve. The sash is also curve milled. When the curve of the sash strikes the curve of the ridge, a leverage is produced that sort of pries tight shut every inch of the sash's length.
