Ardudwy Way following the Bryn Cader Faner Bronze Age trackway and Post Medieval Coach Road, Eisingrug, Talsarnau, Harlech, Snowdonia, Gwynedd.

Route of Bronze Age prehistoric trackway and C16th/17th paved and kerbed road which was part of Llanbedr/Moel Goedog - Trawsfynydd coach road. Now part of Ardudwy Way long distance path. Looking south south west away from Bryn Cadr Faner cairn. The "great" Bronze Age trackway and later coach road from Llanbedr to Moel Goedog and over the north of the Rhinog range to south east of Trawsfynydd runs south west/north east through this remote upland valley east of Talsarnau and west of Moel Ysgyfarnogod. Ancient route giving access to mountainous country which became particularly important in the later Bronze Age when "metal trading was at its height among nomadic people living on the uplands." Bronze Age standing stones "indicate the route up on to the higher ground which provided the easiest passage, before modern drainage of the lowland. This prehistoric route was the road taken by Giraldus Cambrensis in 1188, and continued to be the main road until the beginning of the C19th " The track was rebuilt in C17th/C18th "as a well-engineered road with a kerb (stones taken from nearby BA cairns?) that is still visible despite the growth of bog which can make the route very wet."
