Newly installed overhead signal gantry with a 4 aspect signal for forward movements of trains along the main line
Reading platform number 7 signal number T1694 4 aspect LED colour light signal with junction indicators one and two displaying a red stop aspect for trains in the up direction. The overhead gantry is high enough to avoid contact with a 25 thousand volt overhead cable so to be installed in this area hence the signal itself is shrouded to keep any signal engineer safe from electrocution when cleaning or working on this signal. The two rows of lights one of which can be lit will tell the train driver whether he is going up the "up main" or the "up relief" lines.
