Kaunos was an ancient city with an important port flourishing from the 10th century BC in the southwest of nowadays Turkey. The settlement was in former times at the coast but is now situated 8 km inland. The theater seated 5000 people and is still used, even with some areas destroyed by earthquakes. Kaunos war eine alte Stadt mit einem wichtigen Hafen im Südwesten der heutigen Türkei. Die Blütezeit dieser Stadt begann im vor Christus. Damals lag der Ort an der Küste, heute finden sich seine Ruinen acht Kilometer landeinwä Theater der Stadt hatte 5000 Sitzplätze und wird heute noch manchmal genutzt - auch wenn Teile durch Erdbeben zerstört
