This view is from Long Point about an hours drive from Armidale through the quaint tableland village of Hillgrove itself a relic of a once proud mining town We arrived mid morning to a breath taing view of this gorge the steep ridges highlighted by the angle of the sun I used a polariser to reduce glare and saturate the colours but the image lacked something I backed up and got caught on an overhanging dead branch fropm an equally dead tree which sent me skidding and my gear almost ended up as flotsum at the bottom of the gorge except for a quick grab hold of the tripod action Now that this dead tree had my attention I suddenly realised I could use it in the image as my heart rate returned to normal I recomposed and click Sometimes accidents can be a blessing in disguise but surely its better to be aware than scared half to death
