The Crystal Palace Retreat is a metal and glass structure located in the Jardines del Retiro in Madrid. It was built in 1887 for the Exhibition of the Philippines, held that year. Its structure is metal, and is fully covered with glass plates, hence its name. It was built by Ricardo Velázquez Bosco, and the project was inspired by the Crystal Palace, built in London in 1851 by Joseph Paxton.
