There is more out- door bulbous stock and Formosa lilies are better. The China lily crop shows good quality and the demand cleans up the offerings readily. Paper Whites are plentiful and tlie heavy cut of freesias continues to hold a strong position. The supply of daffodils is increasing, but more could be used to advantage. Many forced tulips and hyacinths have ap- ])eared, but on account of their great ])oi)ularity there have not been enough to go around. The carnation receipts have been greatly increased by days of warm weather and prices have dropped somewhat. Last week No. 1 carnations were selling at 75 cents to $1, and now they are quoted at 50 cents. Some of the growers who have extra fancy stock have not reduecfl their prices, however. Limited quantities of good sweet peas are appearing and the supplies are snapped up at rather high prices. A few late chrysanthemums continue to arrive, but they are not good and receive little attention in the market. Although the rose crop is going off with the smaller growers, there is no real shortage as yet, as the larger grow- ers have enough to supply requirements fairly well. There is a fine cut of Amer- ican Beauties, and Russell shows excel- lent quality. Violets now are fine and the shipping demand has improved. The market is well supplied with gardenias, and orchids are in better supply tlian for some time, many fine species being offered besides cattleyas. Many cut cyclamens are still being used.
