Osibisa, which means "criss cross rhythms that explode with happiness". Founded in 1969 they claimed they were the godfathers of Rock Music and that they paved the way for Bob Marley to come on later. Their music was desribed as a fusion of African, Caribbean, jazz, rock, latin and rhythm & blues. Their leader used to claim "he was from Mars, and it was tough sometimes being in two worlds at the same time". They were Teddy Osei saxophone, Sol Armafio drums, Mac Tontoh trumpet, Spartacus R bass, Robert Bailey keyboard, Wendell Richardson lead guitar, Lasiso Amao percussionist and tenor saxophone. Adams Dark Potato died in 1995 and Kiki Djan died in 2004. Their music is highly danceable.
