Selingue, Mali, 26th April 2015; Kenekoubo Dolo, 50, has been growing pineapple for the last 5 years. It is a good business – he currently grows 50 fruit per seasons, with two seasons per year. He then sells each fruit for 750 to 1,000 CFA. There are some constraints – to plant more plants you sacrifice the fruit. There are also two varieties of fruit, one poorer quality than the other. He also grows papaya which is a good crop too though he needs insecticide which is expensive. He would welcome advice from extension workers but has never received any or seen them in the area.
