Blue sky quiet view 'Wild West' architecture Stockade Bar, Buffalo and Bodega Saloons, Main Street, Deadwood, South Dakota, USA

The Buffalo Saloon building, in the centre of the view, was constructed as a pool-hall in 1879. It was damaged by fire in 1916 and known as the 'Buffalo Saloon' by the 1930s. The sidewalk canopy was constructed about 1942 to simulate the 'Wild West' period of Deadwood's history. The 2nd-storey balcony is a replica of those typically seen on many of Deadwood's original wooden buildings destroyed by the big fire of 1879. The Stockade Bar offers an outdoor eating area and live entertainment. The Bodega Saloon building dates to 1888, the Bodega Saloon occupying the first floor since 1893.
