The clerk is shown a beautifulplot of land and falls for the bait. He pays an installmentin hand, which is his months salary, and obligates himselfto pay monthly. Hurrying home, he breaks the glad newsto his wife. She does not take to it kindly as the butcher, thebaker and several other tradesmen must be paid, but she ispatient.
