Modern illustration of the silver trowel with which Cornelis de Graeff laid the foundation stone for the new town hall of Amsterdam on 28 October 1648. The representation shows both the front of the trowel. On the reverse side of the sheet is a depiction of the reverse of the trowel and of the four gold medals made on this occasion.
