PEARL HARBOR (September 29, 2017) Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) transits the Pearl Harbor Bay. USS Rushmore (LSD 47) is deployed in support of the Oceana Maritime Security Initiative (OMSI), a secretary of defense program leveraging Department of Defense assets transiting the region to increase the Coast Guard’s maritime domain awareness, ultimately supporting its maritime law enforcement operations in Oceania.
