Freshly-made traditional Bury black pudding stored at R. S. Ireland's premises at Haslingden, Lancashire, England, which the company is taking to the Concour du Meilleur Boudin Noir, Europe's most prestigious festival celebrating the black pudding which takes place from 14-16 March 2008 in Normandy, France. R. S. Ireland, was established 50 years ago and employs around 15 people making over 300 tonnes of black pudding each year. Black pudding was a savoury dish made from animal blood, oatmeal, onions, fat, barley and spices.
