On the easternside of the new church are the tombs of a number of the bishops(beginning at the church wall) — Lowth, 1787 ; Terrick, 1777 ;Randolph, 1813 ; Gibson, 1748 ; Sherlock, 1761 ; Compton, 1713 ;Hayter, 1762 ; Robinson, 1723. Near the tomb of his patron,Bishop Complon, lies Richard Fiddes, author of the Life of CardinalWolsey. In the grave of Bishop Lowth rests his friend Wilson, Bishopof Bristol, ?m*.
