Waltrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - Waltrop Ship's Hoist and Lock Park. Here the new boat lift from 1962 was shut down in 2005. The four descent structures at the branch of the Rhine-Herne Canal from the Dortmund-Ems Canal (in front) are called the Waltrop Lock Park. The only lift in operation is the New Lock, built in 1989 between the Old Shaft Lock and the New Lift.
