Linear accelerator. Varian linear accelerator showing the back of the machine (left) and the head (lower right), which is upside down and has had the lead shielding removed for servicing. This treatment is often combined with surgery or chemotherapy (drug treatment). Photographed at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, UK.
