Casey Lake, Hickory Hills County Park, Tama County, Iowa


Hickory Hills County Park, Tama County, Iowa includes Casey's Paha State Preserve in the south-east end of a several mile long paha ridge. A Paha is a hill or ridge formed of sand with loess on top. "Paha" means hill in the Sioux language. These are a landform found mainly in Iowa as a result of glacial action, although the mechanism is not understood.
