Class 66 diesel locomotive, 66744 Crossrail, with stone train in Blea Moor up goods loop on the Settle to Carlisle railway line.


The train is 6M34 and is seen in Blea Moor up goods loop on the Settle to Carlisle railway line on Thursday 21st April 2016. The train is the 12:12 from Arcow Quarry (Gbrf) to Bredbury Tilcon (Gbrf) and is one of the newly introduced stone trains carrying stone from the quarry (near Horton in Ribblesdale) which has been reconnected to the Settle to Carlisle line.\trains can only leave the quarry northwards and travel over the Ribblehead viaduct to the goods loop at Blea Moor where the locomotive runs round the train and then heads south back over the viaduct to it's eventual destination. Here the loco has just backed onto it's train ready to head south.
