St Clement Danes Church, Strand, London, WC2, UK

St Clement Danes was built by the Danish community, in the ninth century. Rebuilt by William the Conqueror and rebuilt again by Sir Christopher Wren in 1681. The steeple was added by James Gibbs in 1719. It was gutted in the second world war leaving only damaged walls and steeple. Adopted by the RAF in 1956 and restored by Antony Lloyd and reconsecrated as the central church of the RAF. It is the St Clements of the nursery rhyme oranges and lemons (say the bells of Saint Clements)
