Perognathus infraluteus Thomas, Ann. and Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 6, XI, p. 406, May, 1893. Type from Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado. Known only from the type locality, from which place the Bio- logical Surs^ey has a series of 10 specimens, collected in October, 1894, by ^Ir. Clark P. Streator. The type specimen in the British Museum was taken by Mr. W. G. Smith April 4, 1892. (See fig. 22.) The Loveland animal appears to be geographically separated from its near relative, P. fasciatus of the northern plains, from which it is distinguishable by the strong buffy suffusion on the underparts in marked contrast to the pure white underparts of P. fasciatus. 1 Mammals of Colorado, p. 253, Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original Cary, Merritt, 1880-1918; United States.
