Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire, UK. 8th December, 2021. Some local roads are flooded now as HS2 have removed removed so much vegetation and compacted soil leaving rainwater with no where to go. The High Speed Rail construction from London to Birmingham is having a very adverse impact upon part of the Chilterns which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Eastern Leg of HS2 has now been cancelled as the project is hugely over budget. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy
