A view of The River Dart as it flows past Dartmouth and Kingswear in South Devon.

The River Dart flows out into the sea at Dartmouth. Dartmouth sites on one bank of the river and Kingswear is on the other. There are two car ferries that can be taken to get from Dartmouth to Kingswear (and vice versa) and there's also a passenger ferry. Dartmouth is a beautiful town with interesting tourist shops and art galleries. It is also home to the Royal Naval College. Kingswear is the end of the line for the Dart Valley Steam Railway. Steam trains can frequently be seen (and heard) puffing along the Kingswear bank of the river. In this photograph, we see a train arriving in Kingswear whcih is being pulled by a Great Western Tank Engine. Dartmouth is a very popular holiday location but yet managed to remain unspoilt. Many people have their sailing boats mored in the river.
