It was a noble304 /AON, PETERSBURG effort. We had no church organization at this place Henceit required large subscriptions from the few to secure the amountnecessary to complete the building. The citizens all contrihutedcheerfully and liberally. It cost about $2,000. The church is 42 by 46 feet, with a spire and a bell, all nicelyfinished. It presents a line appearance and is an additional orna-ment to the village. Five of the neighboring brethren had beeninvited to he present at the occasion, hut all failed to come andthe dedication sermon had to he preached by the pastor. Althoughthe weather was very unfavorable, the house was full. The. 71( >N LUTHFRAN CHURCH, PETERSBURG, PA. effort to liquidate the debt was a success and now we owe noman anything. The meeting was continued for three weeks andtwenty souls professed faith in Christ. We have since organizeda congregation on the place of forty-five members. To God beall the glory. Rev. Aughe resigned the Waterstreet charge on September 1,1869, and made no report to Synod for the last year. Rev. J. J. Kerr, of Huntingdon, in connection with that charge,supplied this congregation with preaching. The report of thiscongregation is not included in Rev. Kerrs reports of the Hunt-ingdon charge, as he only supplied it. He reported eighteeninfant baptisms, fifty-four additions, eleven losses, eighty com-municants, one prayer meeting, one Sunday school, two teachers,100 scholars; money raised, $132. He
