But I had gotto windward of the animal, so as there was little chanceof my coming up with him, I rode home to the way my guide pointed out a fine equine ante-lope, standing about two hundred and fifty yards dismounted hastily, and ran till I was within range;but I was so out of breath that I could not aimproperly, and overshot the mark.
