Theofficer pulled the man out. and a struggle ensued duringwhich the officer was shot. Despite being shot, theofficer subdued the culprit. Patrolman Stashewsky was removed to the hospitalwhere his name was placed on the danger list. Complaints were issued against the criminal forassault and battery, being armed with intent to murder,unlawful possession of a firearm (two counts 1, usinga motor vehicle without authority, and operating afterright to operate was suspended. He is now Richard Cardinal Ciishing Presents WalterScott Medal for Valor, Department Medalof Honor, and Thomas F. Sullivan Awardto Patrolman Victor Stashewsky.
