In such a case the radioscopic exam-ination ought to bring out other disseminated shadows inthe upper part of the lung and even in the other lung. On the contrary, in the case of diffuse secondary cancer allthe rest of the respiratory organs remain perfectly clear. Cer-tain diffuse centers of common broncho-pneumonia of thebase must be borne in mind. It is impossible also in thisdiagnosis to separate the clinical and radioscopic examina-tion, the latter being able to add information only of sec-ondary Fig. 27Interlobar cancerous pleurisy, following tumor of the mediastinum. In a single case, Barj on observed a very clear pulmonaryshadow outline with somewhat peculiar form. It was ayoung man operated on the year before for a malignanttumor of the testicle who showed grave pulmonary signs ofthe left base. On radioscopic examination there was seenat this level an extensive shadow, marked in the upper partby a clear irregular line, raised in the middle by a roundedprojection which gave to the picture the appearance of atumor. There were rather large glands of the hilus, but therest of the pulmonary field remained clear. Diagnosis ofsecondary cancer of the lung was made and subsequentlyverified. 148 RADIO-DIAGNOSIS: LUNGS Cancer of the -pleura.—Cancer of the pleura offers littleof interest from a radiological point of view. It is seenmost often under the form of pleurisy of the large cavitywith effusion. Radioscopically it does not differ
