As the musclebecomes degenerated the individual fibre contracts, obliterating thestriated appearance, leaving the muscle with a homogeneous, smooth,or yellow tint. As the process goes on all trace of the muscular sub-stance may vanish, leaving the sarcolemma containing only fattyglobules.
