Misfolded RNA from tetrahymena ribozyme, molecular model
Misfolded RNA (ribonucleic acid) from tetrahymena ribozyme, molecular model. The requirement that RNAs fold into their functional three-dimensional structures introduces what is termed the 'RNA folding problem', analogous to the 'protein folding problem'. The tetrahymena group I intron has been a key system in the understanding of RNA folding and misfolding.
