View W at the remains of a Neolithic chambered tomb (stalled cairn) on a moorland hillside overlooking the Sound of Fara on the NW coast of Eday island, Orkney, Scotland, UK. The two W slabs, the stump of a third & the recumbent stone (revealed by peat cutting) are the remnants of two pairs of opposed slabs dividing the chamber into burial compartments. The cairn was probably robbed for stone in prehistoric times to build a nearby house & field walls. View to Red Holm (front), Fara (L) & Westray (R) etc.
